Followers of our blog are well aware that the New Jersey coast suffered considerable damage from Hurricane Sandy. In the last 11 months, property owners have been struggling to put the pieces back together and many in Seaside Heights were just hit once more. A massive fire burnt much of the Seaside Heights boardwalk on September 12, 2013.
Many of the business’ along the boardwalk were gearing up for full repairs this off-season after limping through this summer. Still others were closed for the entire summer mostly due to insurance disputes. While some property owners have used our help, many have been fighting their insurance carriers over coverage issues. These carriers have improperly denied coverage and dragged out the process for almost a year. The silver lining for those that maintained their insurance coverage: there should not be a coverage dispute if they suffered fire damage. Hopefully the people of Seaside will be able to make a quick recovery again this year and be ready for the 2014 summer season.
